Ooh, I know some:
- If at first you don’t succeed, give up.
- Always run your ideas by negative people and take their opinion to heart.
- If it looks too good to be true, ask yourself why you always have to be such a darn pessimist.
- Building a list is too hard and not worth it.
Oh man this is fun!

Good additions Alex, the 2nd is my favorite!!
A few others I use regularly…
- Frequently updating your blog is a recipe for disaster.
- Only work on the weekends; of course, just 10 minutes a day.
- Don’t make your blog easy to navigate. Make things hard to find. People like “hunting for Easter eggs” and it will increase your pages per visit rank.

Hmm, one of my comments disapeared. No matter, I’ll take another swing since this is so much fun.
Shawn, you communist, you have us working on weekends now?
I particularly like your last one about navigation, I think I’ll go implement it right now, or maybe later. Yes I think later.
Which brings me to other goods ways of not making money online:
- Old chinese proverb: “why do today what you can put off until tomorrow?”
- Planning is for fools. Why stiffle your spontaneity with useless rules?
- Measuring results is depressing when things don’t work out. Avoid doing so or you could harm your high spirits.
- Always do everything yourself. You can’t fail if you become good at all things. Plus outsourcing costs money.
- All the information you will ever need can be found in forums. Live by that rule.
Well I think that’s enough for now…

1. Never make lists.
2. Never, ever put advertising on your site. Advertising ruins the user experience and has never made anyone a millionare (just ask Jason Calacanis).
3. Never ask your customers for what they want.
4. Don’t find a mentor who has succesfully done what you want to do.
5. Links don’t matter, avoid getting them like the plague.
6. When something doesn’t work, continue to do it.
7. When you find something that does work, stop doing it.
