May 2007 Online Earnings Report
Last month, April 2007 for those of you who don’t follow the calendar, was my best month yet with regards to making money online. It beat February 2007, which was previously my best month. The only thing better than having a record-setting month is repeating the performance – I’m happy to say that May 2007 beats April as my best month to date. Total net profit was up 77% vs last month – nothing short of fantastic. Here’s the breakdown of what’s working and what isn’t :
Adsense
Adsense seems to be a juggernaut. I love it and hate it, but it keeps performing very well for me. Adsense income shot up an impressive 52% over April. As for the portion of total income, Adsense made up 49% this month, down slightly from 57% last month. A move in the right direction, but still high.
Text Link Ads
Text Link Ads continues to be a steady performer in my income stable. Income from TLA was up 13%, and it made up 9% of my total profit. Even though my TLA income continues to increase, it isn’t keeping pace with my total income improvements. That’s why the percentage continues to drop.
Linkworth
May was my second month on board with Linkworth, and my income from there jumped 101%, and made up 4% of total income. I expect to see gains in Linkworth earnings over the next few months as more advertisers jump on board.
Kontera
Kontera really impressed me this month. After adding Kontera ads in April, they provided a decent addition to my income streams. However, my Kontera earnings jumped 272% in May – truly impressive. As a whole, Kontera accounted for 30% of my total income – second only to the Big G.
Affiliate Programs
Not much to say on affiliate programs, except I swung from a small profit to a very small loss. Break-even almost, if you get right down to it. Could be a lot worse, but I really need to figure this game out and start generating steady profits here.
Sponsored Posts
I did several sponsored posts this month, and the income accounted for 8% of total income.
May 2007 Overview and looking forward
There’s nothing bad to say about May, with the exception of my affiliate campaigns. There’s so much potential in this arena, and I need to really sit down and get something going here. I didn’t focus on this area much this past month, and that’s why there was no money. Besides that, everything was truly impressive, and no complaints at all. I’ll continue to focus on the same things, with a renewed focus on affiliate programs.
2007 Year to Date
Everything’s looking up for 2007. May profit outperformed April and March combined – I can only imagine what another month like that would bring. Once I get back into the affiliate game ( and affiliate profits ), who knows what could happen? I for one can’t wait to find out. It’s June, and it’s time for another record month.

I’m impressed by your success with ContentLink. I guess it really depends on the site’s intention. I didn’t find success with it in my blog, so I removed is mid-May.

Looks like you are certainly doing some things right! February still remains my top month in terms of ad revenue, but I’m hoping that will all change once my new site design goes live. The future is only looking brighter and I am ready for the journey.
Congrats again on all of your success. Hell you might even be able to afford to get the Green Llama some new gear!

Matt,
Kontera is very much topic-based. I think product blogs are more likely to do well with it, at least in my experience. That’s why I don’t have Kontera on GL anymore – it just didn’t perform very well.
Shawn – With any luck the Llama will be rockin some new gear before too much longer – I just wish there were more hours in the day
