Green Llama Blast from the Past
I found myself getting a little nostalgic today. Or maybe I was looking for something that I couldn’t find, who knows. It’s hard to say how I ever end up doing anything really. In any case, I stumbled across this post - one of my earliest. It’s short, simple, and to the point. It’s not very eloquent either - I was a horrid writer back then ( Not like I’m Leonard Hemingway or some other fancy writer now, but I suck less ). Anyway, it’s a good post. The point hammers home, and it’s advice that you really need to take to heart. The post is called Quitting.
Take a few minutes to go through some of your old comments, and click on the reader’s links. I’d bet than half of the sites are abandoned, and will have no chance at every going anywhere. If you don’t want to end up like that, then take the advice. Quitting sucks.

I remember stumbling across your blog when you first started blogging, and I read it for a while. Back then I would start a blog and quit after a few weeks… especially seeing some of the blogs I was reading then, including yours, not getting any comments! I wish I had known better and stuck with it!
This time when I subscribed to your google bar button, even before I started blogging, I actually went through some of your old posts and had a chuckle! I’m glad you didn’t quit and continued to get better at it!! my bests!

Hola Pearl,
First off, thanks for reading, and sticking with me through the “bad old days”.
You can’t change the fact that you’ve started and quit several times - what’s done is done. But you can make sure that you don’t quit again. Hindsight is 20/20, and does you no good. Look forward and don’t give up this time around. It will pay off.

you are welcome!! you are right, hindsight is 20/20…but I’ve realized where I could have been today!!
and even though I am not even sure what my niche is or where I want to take my blog, but this time around, I am more prepared to learn and not give up!! Thanks for reminding of that wonderful message … tc and kit

It’s amazing, probably 90% of people attempting to blog quit before it became their turn for success. It takes time, and I think many people think that it’s easy and then find out it’s not. It actually takes a lot of hard work and dedication!

I know - quitting is so weak. In a lot of cases, you don’t even need to be exceptional - you just need to avoid quitting, and work hard. It’s really that simple in a lot of cases.
