Prioritize your tasks better

No matter what stage you’re at in your quest to make money online - whether you’re just starting out, already getting established, or a big name in the game, you need to learn to manage your time. There is only a finite amount of time in each day, and most of us only have [...]

Don’t reinvent the wheel

There are times when it’s great to be different, and to stand apart from the crowd. But there are also times when it’s best to stick with what works - the tried and true method. Sometimes the way things have always been is good enough, and indeed better than a change. No [...]

Green Llama Blast from the Past

I found myself getting a little nostalgic today.  Or maybe I was looking for something that I couldn’t find, who knows.  It’s hard to say how I ever end up doing anything really.  In any case, I stumbled across this post - one of my earliest.  It’s short, simple, and to the point.  It’s not [...]

YSM Rocks

Just a quick nod to Yahoo Search Marketing.  I had a small billing issue this week, and they resolved it ASAP.  Even called me on my cell phone ( which I never answer at work ), and dropped me an email to confirm.  Very quick, very professional resolution - kudos to YSM.

8 Random Facts About Myself

I got tagged twice, first by Jeremy, and then by Alex, for the 8 random things meme.
The Rules:

Each player must post these rules first.
Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
People who are tagged need to write about their eight facts on their blog.
At the end of your blog post, choose eight people to get [...]

Sites for sale

I’ve been keeping my eyes open for a few good deals on the website front.  I’ve been checking out Sitepoint and Digital Point, but no dice so far.  Anyone know of any other good places to find sites for sale?  Looking for something moderately established, *with* income.  Niche / topic not of the utmost importance.

Ades Color Picker

Any of you who are even remotely familiar with web design are certainly familiar with color pickers.  There are quite a few available, so you aren’t short on choices.  One I came across the other day is called Ades Color Picker.  He spells it funny ( AdesClrPicker ), but whatever.
The cat who made the [...]

Blue Hat SEO - SQUIRT

Did anyone else get in on the Blue Hat SEO SQUIRT tool?  Curiosity has got me….

Office Depot Coupon - $30 off $150

Not much to say here.. just $30 bucks off a $150 purchase at Office Depot.  The coupon shouldn’t be a one-time use, so it should work for everyone.  Good until the end of May, so if you were mulling over a purchase of something business / electronic or whatever, now would be the time.  Link [...]

Rich Jerk on the Auction Block

If you’ve got a spare $8 million sitting around under your mattress, and you’re looking for a horrid investment, might I suggest buying the Rich Jerk empire?  It’s up for sale, and the asking price is a cool eight million dollars - not exactly chump change.  As I’m prone to do, I have to ask [...]

Obsessive Thoughts

I just got tagged by Shawn Knight, this time for Obsessive Thoughts. From what I understand, I have to list five obsessions that I have, and tag 5 more bloggers at the end. I’m really bad at the tagging game, but I’ll give it a go just the same.

Saving Receipts: This drives my [...]

When are security patches a bad thing?

When they’re released by Microsoft, it seems.
I’ve been using Windows for most of my life, after early bouts with a Commodore 64 and an Apple II. I’ve been through Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Vista.
Starting with Windows 98 ( that I remember, anyway ), Microsoft [...]

Do you use Squidoo?

Squidoo is one of those services that I’ve known about for awhile, but only recently got around to trying out. Here’s an overview.
What is Squidoo?
Squidoo is a website owned by Seth Godin, one of my favorite marketing gurus. On Squidoo, you can create what’s called a “lens”, and customize it to your liking. [...]

Super Affordable Housing

Do you want to own your own home, but think you can’t afford it? Lots of people are in the same situation as you. Fortunately for you, the answer is simple. Move to Detroit.
I know what you’re going to say. ” But Detroit is a crime infested city, full of drug [...]

5 Services I’d still use if they weren’t free

There’s a post over at Frantic Industries that lists services that you would still use if they weren’t free. Here’s their list:
Netvibes
Google Calendar
Wordpress
Google Maps
Yahoo! Pipes
My list is quite a bit different, but here goes.

Wordpress. I never would have tried it if it wasn’t free, however if it went to a paid model I [...]

Blogs vs Mini-Sites

Often I go back and forth about which is a better use of my time - blogging, or creating individual mini-sites. Both have advantages and disadvantages, and I can’t seem to decide which is a better choice.
Why blogs are better
Flexibility
Blogs allow a lot more freedom of thought than a static website does. I [...]

Does America need another white president?

After my recent post, Is America ready for a black president? , some people thought I had a valid question, while others thought I was on the racist side.  It is what it is, and it’s a touchy subject for sure, so it’s hard for me to get offended when called a racist in that [...]

Is America ready for a black president?

Barack Obama is all but a lock to run for President of the United States of America in the 2008. I don’t know if he’s the first black man to run for President ( though I can’t think of another ). If it matters, Obama is actually half black and half white - [...]

Don’t forget Valentine’s Day

It’s coming - just 5 days left. If you haven’t ordered flowers yet, you probably should. Don’t be the idiot who forgets to get his wife or girlfriend flowers. You don’t want to be single on February 14th, do you?

Thirty bucks - you can swing it.  And don’t wait till the last [...]

Sears - The company everyone loves to hate

Every time you read about horrible customer service experiences, Sears is bound to pop up. They’re a major retail company, so that’s to be expected. The part that gets me is when people misinterpret the “Satisfaction Guaranteed” slogan.

Yes, Sears wants happy customers, every retail chain does. But some amount [...]

Think outside the box

The longer you wait, the harder it gets. The box gets bigger all the time, and it isn’t going to stop. What was once a great,

different, very ‘outside the box’ idea isn’t anymore. Your great idea today could become mainstream and boring tomorrow. Better to be first than “me-too”.

California to ban light bulbs

Incandescent, or ‘traditional’ lightbulbs, that is. At least that’s what’s currently being considered by the state. If approved, the act would ban incandescent lightbulbs by 2012 in favor of energy-efficient compact fluorescent lightbulbs. Considering the fact that fluorescent bulbs use about 25% of the energy that old-school incandescent bulbs use, this is [...]

Airline tickets to Seattle Triple in Price

Over the last 24 hours, tickets to Seattle, Washington have tripled in price or more, for all major airlines. The rest of the country seems to be strangely unaffected by this surge in airline ticket prices.
Some are saying that it’s a pending sign of the Apocalypse, but people say that for everything. It’s [...]

Blog Review - Johnchow.com

This post is a review of JohnChow.com - part of his review series.
JohnChow.com is the blog of ( surprise ) John Chow. I don’t really know who John Chow is, and to be frank, I don’t care even a little bit. But I discovered his blog about 2 months ago or so, and [...]

JCPenney $500 Gift Card

If you shop at JCPenney, or even if you don’t take a moment to answer the question, and you may end up with a $500 gift card. If you still don’t want it, Ebay it or send it my way, I don’t mind.

Merry Christmas

I’m not really a ‘blog on Christmas day’ kind of guy.  I just wanted to drop in and say Merry Christmas everyone.  If you’re not Christian, and are offended by that, then get bent.  If you’re not Christian and aren’t offended by my wishing you a Merry Christmas, then Happy Hannukuh or happy Kwanzaa or [...]

Ads off-target

I’m still having ad targeting issues.  For the most recent posts, ads are way off target.  What a PITA.  Hope it figures itself out one day.

Complimentary $300 Gift Card

Victoria’s Secret Gift Card

If you’re not a chick, then buy all means do this anyway. Imagine being able to spend a cool G on sexy lingerie for your girl. Not a bad present if you ask me.

Muslims Outraged by Pope

So the Pope recently condemned Islam for spreading their word by the sword - a valid point if ever there was one. Muslims have taken great offense to this statement, saying that it is not true. In fact, one Muslim group affiliated with Al Qaeda said they plan on killing as many Christians [...]

Ford’s failure looming

Ford angers me. They are in a bad spot, but much better off than rival GM. They insist, however, in doing stupid things. Their latest stupid idea is the 0% financing for 72 months. To offer this at all is a poor decision - interest rates are sky high. Not content [...]

GM wants to die

Good News: GM is introducing their newly redesigned 2007 full-size pickups
Bad News: They’re Still using the ancient 4-speed autocratic transmission.
You have got to be kidding. With all the negativity surrounding GM these days, why would they bring more upon themselves? With $3 gas prices, GM needs to take every possible action to [...]

2007 Corvette Z06 Price hike

The General has raised the price on the 2007 Corvette  Z06 by nearly $5000 over the 2006 model.  What do I think?  About freakin time.  The Z06 outclasses anything near it’s price range - it was only a matter of time before the price skrocketed.  As far as I’m concerned, this car would be a [...]

Imbee launched to battle Myspace

Basically Imbee is a myspace-clone, but with restrictions. Users can send messages and chat for free, but are charged $3.95/mo to have a blog. A credit card is required for registration though, which Imbee says will allow them to gather information that Myspace cannot. In that way, parents are aware of [...]

Shelby GT500 Pricing announced

Soon I’ll be able to actually purchase my dream car - for a cool $43,000.  You’ll need to find a spare 5 g’s if you’re looking for the droptop.  Me, I think I’ll stick with the coupe.  I don’t need everything flying around in the wind while I’m trying my best to keep the rear [...]

Million Dollar Homepage - Part 2

This time around it’s a Per Second Podcast. Basically you ( or your company, or your dog ) pay for as few or as many seconds in the podcast as you want. They’re yours forever, much like the million dollar homepage we’re all very familiar with. I’ll freely admit that I simply [...]

Should File sharers go to jail?

There’s a new law that’s about to be passed in Germany, under which a file sharer could get up to two years in jail. And they’re not talking about someone distributing the illegal software, they’re talking about the average Joe ( or Hans in this case ) who downloads software once in awhile. [...]

Spam for dinner

Well, I just spent the last half hour cleaning out tons of spam comments. Such fun stuff. As a result, I’ve had to turn off instant comment posting - I’ll have to moderate them from now on - joy. So if you don’t see your comment right away, don’t worry, it will [...]

Adios Ads

I was looking over my Adsense account, when I made a startling realization. I track each of my sites by channel, so I can see how each site is performing. The great Green Llama has made me, since its inception, a grand total of $0.13 US American dollars. I’ve made the tough [...]

Mr. Google - I’m sorry

It seems that I’ve somehow angered the Great Google recently. About 3 days ago, all the sites hosted at the Green Llama saw their traffic drop by oh about 90%. When i did a little digging & investigating, I found that Mr. Google had taken some revenge upon me. All the terms [...]

Sam I Am Logo

I just wanted to thank Sam I Am for making the new Green Llama logo. Check out her shop over at Cafepress for lots of goodies. You’ll even find the original Llama ( not green yet ) on a hat & coffee mug. One day you might even be able to get [...]

Muhammad Cartoon

I’m sure all of you have heard about the infamous Muhammad cartoon by now. For those of you who haven’t, here’s the short version. A Danish newspaper published a funny cartoon with Muhammad pictured with a bomb on his head instead of the normal rags. Distasteful? Probably. I know I [...]

Legs - Tasty!

I’m not sure how I came across this link. But anyway, here’s some good tips for if you’re a starving pirate, or if you just have that burning desire to eat some human flesh.
Clever WoT: 101 Ways to Eat Your Friend

Quitting

So here I was, setting up my RSS reader ( a phrase I didnt know existed 3 months ago ) after spending most of the day sitting on my couch, when i realized something. You can’t make a million dollars in 15 minutes a day, 3 days a week. That is, if you [...]

My picture

So I found out that you can post your own picture on your “blog.” I thought about putting my own picture here, but I decided not to for a few reasons. For one, many of you would probably grab the nearest sharp object and use it to remove your eyes. Those of you who didn’t [...]

Working on Sunday

Should be against the law. It was way back in the day, or at least everyone was afraid to go to work, lest God strike them down.
When you work 13 hrs a day, 6 days a week, who wants to work on Sunday too? That’s just ridiculous. I went in for a [...]

New Layout

I decided to scrap the old layout, mainly because it made me want to gouge out my eyes. This new one looks a lot better I think.. it’s much cleaner. I’m trying to set up the sidebar so it’s much more attractive, and I think it’s looking good.
Now I suppose I have to [...]

I don’t understand the Internet

I realized the other day that I don’t understand the internet anymore. Way back when I was into all the new stuff, and I always knew about all the new technologies and whatnot. But now I’m clueless.
There’s all kinds of acronyms and slang I don’t know. Like RSS, XHTML, DHTML,podcast, [...]

My apologies

You know, I was just thinking. You guys ( as if anyone was reading this ) probably don’t care about my stapler as much as I do. Although maybe you should give your own stapler some more thought. I know that I didn’t care about mine very much until one day when [...]

For those of you who live in a cave

For those of who live in a cave, this is a can of Pepsi. When I refer to “coke” I might indeed mean coke, but also maybe Pepsi. I like them both.

Not the smartest cat in the bush

Well I think it’s pretty safe to say I’m not the smartest cat in the bush. Whatever that means. I put a link to my own blog in my blog. And I’m still not sure what a “blog” is. But anyway I added some goodies over on the side to help [...]

What’s a blog ——–

What’s a blog

What’s a blog

I have no idea what a blog is. I dont know what to write here, because I dont know what will happen. I read somewhere that you can make a million dollars if you have a blog. You just make up some crap for 17 minutes a day, 3 days a week [...]

GreenLlama

Green Llama is a place to learn about making money online. Any ideas or walk-through's I have, I'll post here for your enjoyment. I also do product and online service reviews.

However, I tend to run off on tangets quite often. I call this part of the site 'random crap'. Basically I'll go off and post about whatever I want, just to keep things interesting. Have fun and stay tuned.
