If that isn’t THE worst possible name I’ve ever heard…. Anyway on to the good stuff.
EngadgetMobile reviews the Fujitsu-Siemens Pocket LOOX T830 and writes – ‘This gadgetfreak’s delight sports a Windows Mobile 5-powered Intel PXA270 416MHz processor, GSM/UMTS, WiFi, Bluetooth, SIRF Star III GPS, dual cameras (two megapixel and VGA), 64MB RAM/128MB ROM, SDIO/MMC slot, the always-popular QWERTY keyboard, and the never-popular 240 x 240 2.4-inch TFT LCD.’

TWO cameras???? Why?? Seems like added cost and no added functionality to me, unless I’m missing something here.

InfoSync reviews the Fujitsu-Siemens Pocket LOOX T830 and writes – ‘In what appears to be a solid bid to achieve technological nirvana, Fujitsu Siemens has unveiled its Pocket LOOX T800 series comprised of the T810 and T830 models at the ongoing 3GSM World Congress 2006 fair in Barcelona. Launched as the most capable Windows Mobile 5.0 devices to date, the two integrate antenna-less GPS reception, UMTS based 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, Bluetooth 2.0, USB 1.1 with host capabilities and a SDIO capable SD/MMC card expansion slot for an unparallelled connectivity setup. ‘

MobileWhack reviews the Fujitsu-Siemens Pocket LOOX T830, and here’s their thoughts -’The T800s measure in at 4.9″ x 2.5″ x 0.8″ and weigh about 6.7 ounce. The cool thing about the T800s is the built in 3G cellular (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System 400-700 kbps) and Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) broadband capability. Some of the newer devices require an SD card for this purpose.’

RIMarkable has the scoop on the Pocket LOOX T800 – here’s what they have found out – ‘Fujitsu-Siemens will enter into the mobile phone / PDA arena currently dominated by the BlackBerry with two new Pocket LOOX devices, the T810, and the T830. Both devices are rumored to have UMTS, 802.11g, Bluetooth 2.0, 128MB flash memory, 64MB RAM, Windows Mobile 5.0 AKU2, and GPS. ‘

Engadget also has some useful info on the Pocket LOOX T800 – ‘Looks like the LOOX T800 series (including the T810 and T830) will apparently be announced right prior to V-day next month at 3GSM, and will be shipping in July if we’re to believe Pocketinfo’

Wow, that’s a powerful-sounding device. Form factor looks sweet – I wonder how the keyboard will be on it though. With all those goodies, bluetooth & wifi, tons of RAM, and the latest version of Windows Mobile – this could be one to watch. Can’t wait to hear reports on battery life.
