Before I begin, this post is a sponsored post. I am a member of Review Me, a program that advertisers use to raise awareness of their websites. I am required to acknowledge that this is a sponsored post, but I will give an honest review. I.E. I am not required to give a positive review, if I don’t feel the site deserves it. If I was, I wouldn’t be doing this post. Ok, on to business.

Wirefly.com ( or Wirefly mobile ) is a website that sells cell phones. The hook is that nearly all of their cell phone offerings are free. Often there is a rebate involved to get the phone for free, and in every case there is a contract required. Look for two years, so make sure you choose your phone wisely.

Notice how I said most phones are free – key word being most. Some phones, very notably the Treo line, will cost you. Wirefly does offer a significant discount to help ease the pain of the high cost, but you will not get away from. Current prices on either of the Sprint Treo 700 models is $250 after rebates.

As long as you watch out for the final price of the phone, you should be ok. There is a quite a nice selection of FAR ( free after rebate ) phones available, so everyone should be able to find something they like. Wirefly even has accessories and ringtones, if that is your thing.

So, would I use Wirefly? Well, probably not. I’m perpetually in a contract with Sprint, and I doubt that will ever end. Sprint has been good to me, and I don’t plan on taking my business elsewhere. But for someone who needs a new line of service, Wirefly offers a great selection of products; and the price is certainly right.

The processor is a Samsung S3C2440 running at 400 MHz. The data and application memory (NAND-type FlashROM) is now 256 MB instead of 128 MB in the M600. After a hard reset, the user can access 30 MB of RAM and 193 MB of FlashROM. Those nearly 200 MB of free storage memory is good news. If you load maps of just a few countries you really need instead of, say, the whole Europe, your navigation application should be able to go without a memory card. The G500+, too, is easy to return to the factory defaults using the Default Settings utility, which is the same as in the M600+.’

The integration of mobile navigation and mobile phone into a single, compact device is an attractive solution for those who are looking for a work tool rather than an interesting toy, and those who prefer to carry around one gadget for all purposes. Before you decide to buy, consider carefully if the parameters do match your requirements. For instance, GPRS will suffice for e-mail and browsing of (optimized) web pages, but may fail if you need to send a large attachment. This is just one example and there are many more, due to the small size and the large number of integrated modules.”

Treo Central completed their full review of the Sprint Treo 700wx and is 100% in love with it – ‘The burning question, I suppose, is whether it’s the best smartphone currently on the market. Not to put too fine a point on it: is it better than the 700p? Here’s my take: the 700wx is more powerful and has more functionality but WM5 is still less intuitive and easy-to-use then the 700p’s PalmOS. Nevertheless, for me, the 700wx is better.’

Treo Central has a first look type of review for the Sprint Treo 700wx and has apparently fallen in love – ‘The 700wx is fast. EvDO is fast. The device itself is very responsive – especially compared to the 700w.’, ‘Yes, it works as a dial-up modem. Windows only (so far as I can tell – it requires software be installed on the desktop), and it works. Works great‘

The more I read about the Treo 700wx, the more I want one. I’ve been using the Palm OS for so long though, I don’t know if I could make the switch. I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these magnificent smartphones and try it out for myself.

Smartphone Today reviews the T-Mobile Sidekick 3 and writes – ‘The Sidekick now works with Bluetooth, although only with mono Bluetooth earpieces. The phone doesn’t support stereo Bluetooth, which shows a lack of commitment to the music market, and you can’t use Bluetooth to transfer files to and from a PC. You’ll need to use the included online account to transfer information to your Sidekick, which is a hassle.
The Sidekick 3’s battery is rated for 4.5 hours of talk or 3 days of standby. Use the various communications features frequently, as we did during testing, and jack up the backlight and those numbers fall. We had to charge the phone every day or two while testing. ‘

One is the Palm Treo 700p, which combines the familiar Treo form factor with a gorgeous 320-by-320 screen, EV-DO networking, and the very snappy performance of the Palm OS. It’s hands down my favorite Treo and one of my favorite handhelds ever. On the Windows Mobile side, the Sprint PPC-6700 offers more power with a faster processor, a better screen, and integrated Wi-Fi wireless networking. It’s the best device for frequent travelers currently on Sprint’s network. So while the Treo 700wx does a decent job, it’s simply outmatched by the competition on two fronts.’
