Battery life is precious – after all, what good is an amazing smartphone with a dead battery? Here are some tips to help you get the most out of your smartphone’s battery -

  1. Turn the brightness down -Yes, the bright screen is wonderful. But this is the single most effective way to maximize the battery life of your smartphone.
  2. Turn off infrared beam receive -Not a huge gain here, but how many of you use your IR port on a regular basis?
  3. Turn off Wi-Fi when not in use
  4. Turn off Bluetooth
  5. Shut down background programs when not needed
  6. Set the “auto off” to 30 seconds

These are some of the things I do to help maximize battery life or my Treo 700p and Sprint PPC-6700. What tricks do you use?
